how privileged is your life that you are astounded when you think obvious and systematic racism only existed once upon a time thousands and thousands of years ago? It would be really cool if it was a thing of the past, but racism doesn’t just up and leave just because it’s the year 2012 and there’s no longer *legally* slaves.
